We took so many pictures.. of all the fun we had. It seriously was such a great trip. I cant wait to share it all with you.
We flew in early Friday morning which allowed us to get settled in our hotel by 10am. We quickly found somewhere to eat and started our day. We were staying in Union Square, which became super convenient when we realized we had all packed for "summer California weather" and it was freezing. So first up, shopping! I was thrilled.
After bundling up a bit we decided to figure out the best way to get around town. We first attacked the trolley, then the train car, then the bus and finally made our way to Fisherman's Warf. Im not joking when I say it took us forever to get to the Warf, but we were there and we were huuungry. We walked the docks a little bit and found ourselves a little hole in the wall to order some Clam Chowder and Fish n Chips from. It was most definitely the best meal we had the whole time we were there. The rest of the trip we kept commenting on how we just wanted to go back for more Clam Chowder. After our stomachs were full we wandered around the dock some more and made our way to the dogs of the ocean, the seals. They were so entertaining, I could have stayed there all night watching them. I couldn't believe how much their mannerisms reminded me of our dogs.
We had all decided that our number one thing to see while here in San Fran would be Alcatraz. However with the World Cup in town tickets were sold out for three weeks straight. We quickly learned that the Bus Tours included tickets... we were sold. I will be honest and say I was a little hesitant of the hop on hop off busses. But, it was most definitely the best decision we made on this trip. We purchased our tickets just in time for the Night Tour. We were all freezing and our feet hurt... So we thought, why not. Lets go for it and it will drop us off right outside our hotel. Not so smart for the freezing side of us, I still blame the double decker bus for the nasty sickness I caught.. buuuuut. The night tour was very impressive and proved to be our favorite tour we went on. It have us our first glance of this beautiful city we would be exploring the next three days.. and also our first glance at the Bay Bridge and famous Golden Gate.
