San Fran Day II :: Alcatraz

Our second day in San Francisco was all about Alcatraz.. we woke up bright and early to go get our tickets and walked around the wharf until it was time to get on the ferry. I was really excited for the tour, but had no idea I would enjoy it so much. You are narrated the whole time by 4 different prisoners and 4 guards of the prison. Story after story of fights, murders and attempted escapes along with stories about the families that actually lived on the island. It was all so very fascinating, so well done. It is a must see while in San Fran.

(I mentioned in my last post that we were there during the World Cup.. the Catamarans Wold Cup.
It was quite the party. We were able to watch several races, including one from Alcatraz island)

After returning to the mainland we ate at the yummiest Italian restaurant and called it a night early.
We had every intention on going back out that night for a good dessert.. but once we all laid down we were gone... and it felt so good.
