4th of July

Part of me hated having the 4th in the middle of a work week... and part of me loved it. Going back to work on Thursday was terrible after a long day of fun... but getting to celebrate the Holiday all over again on Saturday was wonderful.  Our celebrations started off on Tuesday night, the 3rd of July is my Dad's birthday! We were able to meet up with them and also my grandparents, and cousins Matt and Zach for dinner at Pizza Factory. We spent a few hours (and way past their closing hour, oops) talking and laughing. It was an enjoyable night to kick off the Holiday. Hope you had a wonderful birthday Dad, Love you!

The 4th started off bright and early with a hike! The Searle family are HUGE hikers.. Mitch and I have yet to join the bandwagon, but decided the 4th was a great day to join them.  They decided to take it easy on us and just walk the trail in Provo canyon from Vivian Park to the mouth of the canyon... Its a paved 4 mile trail and quite enjoyable. We had a great time walking and talking, so happy the Wyatt family was able to join us as well! After the hike we headed home to get cleaned up before heading to see the new Spiderman movie with my family. We LOVED the movie, so so much better than the previous Spidermans. The movie was followed by a BBQ with Nana & Grandpa.. which also included a competitive croquet game! The family watched War Horse in the backyard on the projector... but since it was 11pm it was well past our bedtime.. With work the next morning we skipped out on the movie and headed home :(

Saturday came fast! which also came with one of my very favorite traditions. The Clyde 4th of July BBQ/Sleepover! We had some very yummy food, enjoyed the family and also another movie on the projector, this time it was How to Train a Dragon.  However most the ladies spent the movie inside chatting and enjoying having Rachel in town :) So happy you were able to make it Rach and family! I would have to say it was a very successful 4th of July...
now we can start thinking of Halloween costumes ;)
