When Mitch bought my ring, he also purchased the warranty. In order for us to have the warranty I have to have my ring cleaned by the jeweler every 6 months. In the year and eight months that we have been married I have never had it cleaned. Friday we were at the mall doing a little Christmas shopping when I decided to drop in and have it cleaned. I could not BELIEVE the difference in my ring.. SO clean and SO sparkly. I was admiring it all night long.. that's why I cant understand why it took me about three hours to notice I was missing one of my diamonds!

I immediately had Mitch call the jewelers and let them know.. We had them check their filter and make sure it wasn't there.. no luck. WHO KNOWS where it could be. We went to several different stores and all around Target..
No big deal.. its under warranty they will replace it anyways. Besides the fact that they will have my ring for 6-8 WEEKS! I am sooooo sad, that is such a long time to be without my ring.
If your wondering I will not have it fixed until after Christmas... Mitch cant understand why, but I... Like Im sure any other girl and her ring... cant part with my ring for the holidays.

I am always TERRIFIED of missing a diamond!! I love getting my ring cleaned, every time me and mom have a girls day, we get ours cleaned :)
totally understand your sadness, I had my ring re prawned (so I wouldn't lose my one and only diamond) and it seemed like forever, then it didn't come in when it was suppose to, so I didn't have it when we were in Hawaii with everyone, it was a big deal to me too!!!! Just tell Mitch, you like letting everyone know that your taken!!!!!
I had one of my baguettes fall out of my ring on our first anniversary! We had been sitting in a jacuzzi at our hotel and when we got back to the room I noticed it was missing. I know the sick feeling you had! And we were lucky, too that it was under warranty. Now I try to remember to get it checked periodically. So sad for you!
Ah that's so scary!! That's a big fear of mine. I'm always scared of losing a diamond, especially the big one. And I totally understand not being able to go without it! I feel naked without mine!
Bummer, Chels! That happened to my ring when I got it cleaned and re-plated before our wedding (you need to do that when you're engaged for so long haha). Apparently those micro pave diamonds are extra fragile because of the way they're set.
Anyway, the moral of this story? Mine was under warranty but I didn't want to send it away for the 3-4 weeks it was going to take, so instead I took it to a place with an in-house goldsmith and paid like $60 for them to replace it. It was only gone for a day, so it was worth it to me! Wilson in Provo and Sierra West in Orem both have great in-house goldsmiths. Just an idea if you don't want to part with it for that long :-)
