vent.

Life has been crazy busy lately.
Which is good, but my blog gets neglected.

Currently not in the mood to be at work.
However I dont really want to be home either.

When we moved into our townhome last April we discovered our furnace was not working. With summer just around the corner we decided to hold off on fixing it.. Summer came and our AC broke, our stove, our water heater and garage... and before we could turn around... its winter again and we need the furnace fixed. To say the least our home is FREEZING right now and the repair dude couldn't come until tonight... my parents space heater is our new best friend.

While Im on a frustrating note..
let me tell you what a pain in the butt borrowlenses.com is.
I have been in the market for a new lens for the last few months. My photography has really picked up and my kit lenses are just not doing the job. Instead of dropping a good amount on a lens that I wasn't sure I would love, I decided to rent it first.... I got the lens a few days later and shot with it, didnt love it. SO happy I rented it first.. It had to be shipped back to the company by Nov 1st. I was more than happy to ship it back.Fast forward a day later I pull out my camera bag and realize I am an idiot and sent them MY lens instead of THEIRS. (they look identical)

I kinda freak out.. worried that I wont get my lens back... How much was my late fee going to be?! I have a shoot in two days, I need my lens! I email the company and tell them the situation, ask them what I should do with their lens and when I can expect mine back. The response I got was this...

" We have received the package but have not checked it back in yet. I will contact you to make shipping arrangements once we have unpacked your lens."

I thought, ok no big deal. I will use another lens for my shoot. Hang onto their lens until they contact me and tell me what to do with it. 2 days go by.. I email and ask for an update.. they tell me they still have not unpacked the lens, they will get back to me. 3 more days go by.. I email again, get the same response. By this point I am a little frustrated, its been 5 days and they still have not told me they found my lens. A WEEK AND A HALF LATER I got an email yesterday telling me they found my lens, how would I like it shipped? and that they will be charging my account for the extra week that I had their lens.

mmmm I DONT THINK SO. I was fuming mad. But still very kind.
... I emailed you guys the FIRST day I noticed I still had your lens (a week and a half ago) asking you what you would like me to do with it. You instructed me that you would contact me to arrange shipping once you found my lens.

After several emails.. and a call to cooperate later.. They expected me to mail their lens back the day I noticed I had it..

To me. That is miscommunication on their part and I should have to pay the extension fee. I DIDNT want to keep their lens. They should have told me in that first email to ship it back asap and they would send mine as soon as they found it..

NEVER rent anything from borrowlenses.com
Their stupid lens will be in the mail tonight
wow longest postever..
I will prob end up deleting this post later...
On the bright side its by Birthday week!
Only one more day of work for us! woot.

sidenote: yes I understand they want to cover the cost of me having their lens.. they lost money by not being able to rent it out that week.. BUT they gotta see were I am coming from too.. dont ya think?

Oh that's so frustrating. I'm so sorry. I just got medical insurance, and they decided after finding out I went to the dr the 16th, they would start on the 17th. And they took 4 months to complete my info because they lost it! Pretty sure I should have had insurance a LONG time ago. So now they expect us to pay this $500 medical bill. Grrrr...stupid businesses.
