McKay's funeral was beautiful. For the past week I have had a hard time letting it sink in that he is really gone. I thought going to the viewing would help me realize it. I thought I got all my emotions out last week. As soon as I started watching his slide show as we waited in line I got pretty teary. And as soon as I saw the casket I fell apart. It was basically all down hill from there..

The program was wonderful. His sister gave an sketch of his life. His brother played a piano piece along with him singing. His father gave a short and to the point message. And then we had the honor of hearing from Elder Russell M. Nelson. As soon as he started his message peace swept over everyone. He brought such a spirit and positive outlook. He was able to explain how the same chemicals that helped McKay's body shut down will help bring his body back when he is resurrected. He also talked about how McKay is always going to be with us. There are no "untimely" deaths, it happens when one is prepared to meet the Lord. He also spoke of his worthiness to continue his missionary service, in the Romanian language, beyond the veil. We are sad but those on the other side are happy to welcome him home.

Im so very grateful that I was able to be friends with McKay. He is such an example to me, And I cant wait until I can hug and tell him that on the other side. RIP McKay. Love you.pictures are dark because I went back later tonight when it was not packed with
family and friends.
