Engagement Night

December 12Th 2008 was the night we got engaged. I knew it was coming but didn't think it would be until after Christmas.. We went up to the MOTAB Christmas concert with my parents, We got up there late and our seats were actually taken so we had to go over to the tabernacle to watch it. We decided half way through that we wanted to go walk around and see the lights before the concert got out and it got too crowded. Little things had happened the whole night that had put me into a somewhat bad mood.... Mitch had pulled away several times when I tried to hug him, wouldn't let me wear his coat when I was cold (literally pulling it out of my hands) and wouldn't get anywhere close to me... all because he was trying to hide the ring from me. So needless to say I was bugged with Mitch. Which I feel horrible about now because I didn't cooperate at all with his plan. Half way through walking around the lights my parents made up and excuse to leave us... I wanted to go sit and wait for them to get back because it was FREEZING and very crowded. Mitch insisted we kept walking around. (got me more bugged) We walked clear out by the church office buildings. Places were there was NO lights. I wanted to know "where the crap he was going" finally he found a quiet spot and gave me a hug and asked me if I loved him.. I thought it was just a normal "i love you" moment so i hurried and said it and turned to walk.. He grabbed my hand and said "would you just stand here for a min" I turned and he was down on his knee with my ring in his hand! I was SHOCKED! He asked me to marry him.. and all I could do was ask questions.. "are you serious.... Did you ask my dad.. is that my ring?" Finally I shook my head yes. I surprised myself and didn't cry, all we could do was smile. We met back up with my parents, took zillions of pictures, called family... Then went and met up with Mitch's family at Chili's for Desert. BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE... so far =)

Here are some more pictures of that night:

Glad that you shared your engagement story. Have not heard all of it - just bits and pieces. Couldn't help but smile that whole time.

So fun to hear this story. Reminds me of my engagement story a little. :)
